Poodle
Party 2009!
2009 Great Northeast PoodleParty/Reunion.
This year's, 2009, Great Northeast Poodle Party will be
held over the solstice weekend, Sept 18th, 19th, 20th,
2009. This will be our 9th party, the first Poodle
Party having been held in 2001, right after the 9-11
attack on the Twin Towers.
We have an email list with yahoo groups where we post
party information. Registration for the three day event
will be $25 per person.
Anyone interested in attending, please email us at:
Crabapplepoodles@webtv.net
or join the email list at

We are fortunate again to have Emily and Buck
cooking for us in the Poodle Summer Kitchen, so all
meals are available with an assorted and varied
lunch and dinner menu.
We are excited to have Beverly Kelm for our doggie
dance teacher this year.
Bev is a retired elementary School Music teacher who
has worked with the Adirondack High Peaks Dog
Training Club, in Saranac Lake, NY, for the past 10
years. While she's been teaching Beginning
Obedience Classes during this time, she's also been
instructing a "Dancing With Your Dog" class, which
has been traveling and putting on various
performances! This past June, Bev provided a
Dancing With Your Dog class at Camp Gone to the Dogs
in Marlboro, VT, where she attends with her three
therapy dogs - Buffy (a Chow Chow mix), Mosey (a
Shiba Inu/JRT/Sheltie mix), and Lulu (a
Dachshund/Beagle mix).
Bev also likes to take her dogs to participate in
different school reading programs, where children
have a fun day reading to their canine companions.
The dogs also visit different hospitals and nursing
homes, where they are able to spread smiles and
cheer, where ever they go! Bev and her bow-wow
buddies have just moved to Pittston, Maine, where
she will continue her involvement with dogs.
At the Poodle Party, Bev will be showing us how to
enjoy dancing with our Poodles, by using basic
obedience commands like sit, down, stay and heel,
in order to lead us in the Virginia Reel and Square
Dancing. It's bound to be a lot of
tail-wagging fun and you're sure to be successful,
even if you feel you have two left feet!
We are also happy to have "The Storyteller" for our
campfire get-togethers.
World Folktales, Fables.
